Role responsibilities

We are looking for a solution-focused team player who will be responsible for providing advisory services to institutional clients specialized in complex commercial real estate transactions.

  • Manage pre-closing insurance and risk review, liaising with lenders, borrowers and brokers on new loan originations.  Responsible for providing insurance requirements based on deal type, geography and lender requirements.
  • Analyze proposed insurance coverage, identifying and communicating insurance coverage gaps to borrower and broker for resolution.
  • Prepare waivers and exclusion reporting as appropriate
  • Create and submit client Final Risk Review deliverable including accurate risk assessment and documentation.
  • Liaise with lenders, borrowers and brokers pre-closing and ensure that proposed insurance coverage is in place at closing.
  • Deliver complete deal package including certificates of insurance.
  • Educate clients and borrowers in risk management, risk transfer, market issues, and relevant trends.
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor on all pertinent issues
  • Responsible for deal flow management and tracking, client status reporting and issue tracking and resolution.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, with Risk and Insurance Management and Business related curriculum preferred
  • Broker’s License

 

Desired skills and experience

  • At least 10 years of appropriate insurance experience, coupled with deal management experience, documentation review, excellent communication and client service skills.
  • In-depth working knowledge of the insurance business and the assigned clients’ needs as well as all major lines of coverage.
  • Willing to be flexible, change roles quickly and be comfortable in a dynamic atmosphere
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe)
  • High level organization and process consistency
  • Self starter, solution focused and independent worker with excellent time management skills
