Role responsibilities

We are looking for an Insurance professional who is a solution-focused team player who will be responsible for growing and managing our Merger & Acquisitions/Leveraged Finance insurance consulting practice on behalf of blue chip lenders and investment banks. We work with clients during the lifecycle of a finance transaction on insurance matters and solutions to protect the lender.

  • Providing insurance advisory services to institutional clients specialized in merger & acquisition/leveraged finance and commercial lending transactions.
  • Conducting an insurance review of the target company including the business and insurance coverage required, an appraisal of the insurance coverage currently in place and an assessment of any further coverage required or additional changes to coverage during the transition.
  • Managing existing deal execution team providing leadership, subject matter expertise and guidance.
  • Supporting business development, meeting with prospective clients and scoping and closing new business.
  • Working with HR to identify and hire additional talent.
  • At least 5 years of appropriate insurance consulting experience within M&A or leveraged finance, coupled with deal management experience, documentation review, excellent communication and client service skills.
  • In-depth working knowledge of the insurance business and the assigned clients’ needs as well as all major lines of coverage.
  • Working with the insurance buyer for the target company and the investor to ensure all required insurances are in place for the transition, including broking of any additional policies or wording changes.
Education Desired skills and experience
  • Proven experience of working within Property, Casualty Insurance consulting is essential
  • Previous experience of managing the insurance coverage for an M&A activity is beneficial
  • Previous business development or client relationship management
  • Willing to be flexible, change roles quickly and be comfortable in a dynamic atmosphere
  • Proven leadership and management experience
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe)

Role responsibilities

We are looking for a solution-focused team player who will be responsible for providing advisory services to institutional clients specialized in complex commercial real estate transactions.

  • Manage pre-closing insurance and risk analysis, liaising with lenders, borrowers and insurance brokers/agents on new CMBS and balance sheet loan originations.
  • Responsible for preparing and communicating insurance requirements based on deal type, geography and lender requirements.
  • Analyze proposed insurance coverage, identifying and communicating insurance coverage gaps to lender and borrower representatives for resolution/negotiation.
  • In-depth analysis of catastrophe modeling reports.
  • Prepare waivers and exclusion reporting as appropriate.
  • Liaise with lenders and borrower representatives pre-closing and ensure that proposed insurance coverage is in place at closing.
  • Review and provide opinions on contractual insurance & casualty obligations in various legal documents and provide analysis on how those obligations interact with the insurance & transaction.
  • Create and submit client deliverable including accurate risk assessment and documentation.
  • Deliver complete deal package including evidence of insurance and other required documentation.
  • Discuss the insurance package with investors and loan buyers.
  • Educate clients and borrowers in risk management, risk transfer, market issues, and relevant trends.
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor on all pertinent issues.
  • High level professional communication to institutional lenders & blue chip real estate owners.
  • Responsible for deal flow management and tracking, client status reporting and issue tracking and resolution.
