Michael S Liebowitz | President & CEO
Michael S. Liebowitz has been President and CEO of Harbor Group Consulting, Inc. since its formation in 1994. He is widely recognized as one of the preeminent insurance consultants in the US and has been called upon to provide expert testimony in cases involving complex insurance issues. For over 20 years, he has represented many of the world’s largest banks and capital market lenders and has been the principal insurance consultant on many notable finance transactions, representing JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Barclays Capital, UBS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Starwood as well as several public mortgage REITs and GSEs. Most notably, Mr. Liebowitz was special consultant to GMAC for the World Trade Center placement, claim and litigation in which the lender was paid in full with respect to their financing as a result of Harbor’s efforts. And he was the consultant on the first European Real Estate Securitization as well as the first financing completed by the Federal Reserve utilizing the TALF program.
Mr. Liebowitz also serves as Chairman of Innova Risk LLC, a leading provider of property and casualty insurance in the NY co-op and condominium markets, through a joint venture with Douglas Elliman Real Estate. And he is one of the founding Principals of National Financial Partners as well as President & CEO of Hallman and Lorber Associates, Inc., a consulting and actuarial firm for qualified pension plans.
Katherina S Komisarjevsky | Chief Operating Officer & Head of CMBS
As COO, Katherina Komisarjevsky is engaged in all facets of the firm’s operations and is responsible for the management oversight of the firm’s large loan transactions, including balance sheet, syndication and CMBS loans. As Head of CMBS, she is responsible for managing, negotiating and closing CMBS transactions for the firm, including stand-alone securitization.
Mrs. Komisarjevsky has overseen transactions totaling more than $500B, including many of the largest and most noteworthy. These transactions include large-scale acquisition and refinance of NYC trophy assets with terrorism exposure such as SL Green’s refinance of Citigroup’s headquarters at 388 Greenwich; properties in areas of high risk for specific catastrophic perils like flood, earthquake, wind and tsunami, including Turnberry’s refinance of Fontainebleau Hotel & Aventura Mall; and large portfolios with concentrated natural disaster exposure such as Blackstone’s acquisition of Equity Office Properties. She also represented the investment banking group in the financing of Hilton Hotels, in anticipation of its initial public offering in 2013. Mrs. Komisarjevsky is called upon for speaking engagements, insurance seminars and contribution to publications and internal presentations of many prominent law firms. Mrs. Komisarjevsky is a cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Science from Hofstra University.
Lori Hadley | Executive Managing Director
Lori Hadley, Executive Managing Director, manages and oversees corporate development and new business strategy for Harbor Group. Prior to joining the firm, Lori ran the project consulting and commercial real estate (CRE) staffing business for Situs. During her tenure, she established a new global business vertical focused on strategic initiatives and regulatory change. Additionally Lori was instrumental in growing and scaling the existing CRE staffing business building a recruiting engine and implementing an industry standard operating system. Prior to Situs, Lori served as Managing Director for Resources Global Professionals, where she was responsible for delivering global solutions including regulatory and finance transformation initiatives to the insurance industry. At Parson Consulting, she served as a Business Development Manager and Resource Manager, responsible for managing client relationships and recruiting top talent. Prior to Parson Consulting, Lori was an Account Manager for The KLS Group, Inc., managing national construction projects and recruiting general contractors in major metro areas. She earned her BA in Sociology from the University of Virginia.
Heidi M Bucher | Managing Director, Head of Construction
Heidi Bucher joined Harbor Group in 2013, where she heads up the construction practice and manages a team of professionals with extensive construction experience. She’s worked on the financing for large construction transactions, including the vast project for MOMA in NYC and 7 World Trade Center. Prior to working at Harbor, she worked as senior consultant to multiple firms in New York, where she gained over 25 years of experience in risk management to both domestic and foreign clients. She also served as Vice President of Communications of the Risk and Insurance Management Society. Ms. Bucher earned a BA from the City College of New York and an Associate degree from the Insurance Institute of America. She holds General Consultant and Property & Casualty Insurance licenses in the state of New York.
Kate Jensen-Brakohiapa | Executive Director
Kate Jensen-Brakohiapa joined Harbor Group Consulting in 2017 through the acquisition of her company, Jensen Insurance Solutions. After a tenure of 13 years with equity and risk management firm Traxler & Tong, Kate founded Jensen in 2011 to provide customized insurance consulting solutions to the unique and evolving regulatory and market concerns of the financial services industry. During her tenure at Jensen, Kate and her team of professionals specialized in Construction (ground up, rehab & conversion to permanent), Balance Sheet/Portfolio, permanent and bridge financings, GSE financed and CMBS transactions. She has her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Montana State University and is a Member and Panelist of the Mortgage Bankers Association.
Emily Rasmussen | Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Emily Rasmussen is responsible for developing and overseeing Harbor’s diverse array of internal processes. Her role includes management of company analytics procedures, client deliverables, and employee training, in addition to needs-based process integration for individual clients, technology systems development, and ongoing tailoring of procedural, service, and technology platforms to ensure compliance with evolving market and regulatory expectations. Prior to role at Harbor Group, Ms. Rasmussen conducted regulatory compliance monitoring for a Wall Street public finance and equity trading firm, later joining the CMBS mortgage loan origination team at MC Five Mile as in-house counsel. As Head of Commercial Real Estate Closings at Five Mile, she designed and managed the bank’s mortgage loan closing process and facilitated the funding and securitization of over two Billion in mid-market loans collateralized across a broad range of property types and asset classes. Ms. Rasmussen is an active member of the CRE Finance Council and CREFC Women’s Network. She holds a JD from Villanova University School of Law and a BA from Michigan State University.
Debbie Glickman | CFO
As CFO of Harbor Group, Debbie Glickman is responsible for all aspects of the financial activities of the company, including cash management, monthly closings and insurance licensing. She also manages human resource duties for the firm, including the implementation and maintenance of the health insurance and 401k plans. Since joining Harbor in 2012, her responsibilities handling the company’s invoicing and cash management systems have greatly expanded due to the exponential growth of the firm. Ms. Glickman is a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She volunteers for the Long Island chapter of the Diabetes Research Institute and is a Co-op Board Member.
Ericka Linares | Director
Ericka Linares is a Director at Harbor, consulting on stand-alone securitization transactions and any loan that may require additional attention to catastrophic perils, leases and/or condominium documents. She has extensive knowledge of the rules and regulations of the National Insurance Flood Program and helps identify and resolve potential concerns by reviewing catastrophic PML analyses and providing concentration analyses. Since joining Harbor in 2012, she has assisted in closing many significant loans, including stand-alone securitization loans for Hilton Owned Assets, 60 Columbus Circle and One Times Square. Previously, Ms. Linares was a Senior Account Specialist at Aon Risk Services of Florida, where she served as an Underwriter in the Professional Liability unit.
Lindsey Fields | Director
Lindsey Fields is a Director at Harbor who specializes in analyzing high-risk exposures, such as flood, wind, earthquake and terrorism as well as reviewing complex casualty and pollution legal liability insurance coverage. Since joining Harbor in 2011, she has reviewed and closed many significant loans, including assisting in several single borrower stand-alone transactions such as Twitter HQ, 11 Madison Avenue and the acquisition of BioMed Realty Trust by Blackstone. Prior to Harbor, she worked as a wholesale property and casualty underwriter for Hull & Company. Ms. Fields holds a BS degree in business with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University.
William R Mooney | Director
William Mooney joined Harbor in 2016 as a Senior Vice President. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mooney worked as the service team leader for the Willis Capital Markets Consulting practice, gaining extensive experience in all aspects of CMBS, construction and balance sheet transactions and analysis of catastrophic risks. He also managed several large Owner Controlled Insurance Programs for the Willis Construction Services group in New Jersey and New York before joining the consulting practice. Mr. Mooney holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University, which included in-depth course work on hurricane and earthquake risk. He is licensed as a Property and Casualty insurance producer in New Jersey and holds designations as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS). He also has served as a volunteer firefighter since 1998, including more than a decade as an officer and four years as a chief officer, with numerous certifications and further studies in building construction and protection systems.

Barbara Roach has been with Harbor Group for nearly ten years, where she currently is a Director. She earned her property & casualty broker’s license over 20 years ago. She brings many years of experience in both real estate and insurance having been a Vice President at Hub International specializing in residential and commercial real estate, Senior Consultant at Fisher Harris Shapiro focusing on risk management and insurance for large real estate owners and a VP of Insurance & Corporate Risk Management at Douglas Elliman Property Management. Ms. Roach is a former board member of Ronald McDonald House of Long Island and currently is a fundraiser for Wingspan Arts and Making Headway Foundation.
Sheri Pellegrini | Director
Mrs. Pellegrini Joined Harbor as a Director in 2016 with more than 24 years’ experience in the commercial risk management industry including tenure with prominent brokerage firms such as Marsh, AON and Willis. Mrs. Pellegrini has extensive experience providing clients with risk management solutions in the real estate, commercial, retail and manufacturing industries and has spent the last 4 years providing insurance due diligence and review services to the financial services industry, including loan origination and servicing. Mrs. Pellegrini holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Temple University.
Kayon Ali | Associate
Kayon Ali is an Associate at Harbor Group, where she works either individually or with a deal team to organize and track transaction details, liaise between Brokers and Lenders to collect information pertaining to each loan and resolve issues along the way. She deals with major clients, including Wells Fargo, UBS, JPM Funding Goldman Sachs and Rialto. Prior to joining Harbor in 2014, she was a Foreclosure Litigation Paralegal at Rialto Capital Management, a paralegal in the Commercial Litigation Department of McCalla Raymer and a real estate agent at Re/Max. Ms. Ali earned a Certificate in Business Development and Corporate Assistance from Katharine Gibbs College, studied Business Administration at American Intercontinental University and has her real estate license from Gold Coast Real Estate School.
Danae Bonilla | Associate
Since joining Harbor in 2014, Danae Bonilla has served as primary insurance consultant on real estate transactions totaling more than $7 billion. Some notable transactions include the Charles River Plaza North loan for UBS/TIAA-CREF and the 100 E Pratt acquisition for Benefit Street Partners/JP Morgan. Ms. Bonilla earned a BA in Psychology from Boston University and a Post-Baccalaureate in Medical Clinical Sciences/Graduate Medical Studies from Harvard University.
Christine Brady | Associate Director
Christine Brady is an Associate Director responsible for handling loan reviews on CMBS, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, construction and healthcare facility loans as well as proprietary loans for various lenders. She joined Harbor in 2014 after many years working for major commercial insurance brokerages, handling sales and servicing of large accounts including contractor, construction, transportation and commercial real estate clients. She also worked at State Farm Insurance, specializing in commercial sales and handling personal insurance. She started her career handling claims at Allstate Insurance Company, after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from SUNY Cortland. Christine has her Property and Casualty Broker License and Life Accident and Health Broker License. She also attended the Hartford School of Insurance, earning the designations of CRIS (Construction Risk Insurance Specialist) and CLCS (Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist).
Erin Conklin | Associate Director
Erin Conklin is an Associate Director conducting insurance compliance reviews on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan transactions for lenders including Berkadia, Citi, Regions and Wells Fargo. One of her recent notable transactions was consulting on a $2.6 billion loan to Project Galaxy. Prior to joining Harbor in 2015, she worked for several insurance brokerages, dealing with the construction and real estate coverage needs for commercial accounts. She also worked in the Risk Management Department, handling high-profile real estate, property management and financial institution clients. Ms. Conklin is a licensed NYS Property & Casualty broker and currently is in the process of obtaining her Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
Jasmin Drinkwater, Esq. | Transaction Advisor
Jasmin Drinkwater is an Associate Transaction Manager at Harbor, assisting lenders in identifying potential risks and ensuring appropriate insurance coverage based on their specific situation. Prior to joining the firm in 2016, she was in-house counsel at Rialto Capital Management, LLC, where she reviewed and negotiated third-party service contracts, managed and monitored their internal trading system and reviewed, monitored and assisted in the drafting of the Funds’ marketing materials to ensure compliance with SEC regulations. Ms. Drinkwater earned her Juris Doctor from New York Law School and is admitted to practice law in New York State. She is an active member of the NYLS Alumni Association, United Way of Miami-Dade, The Urban League, Minority Corporate Counsel Association and the Corporate Counsel Women of Color.

She joined the firm in 2014 after gaining more than 25 years experience as a paralegal specializing in insurance and real estate. Ms. Ferguson holds a New York State Insurance Consultant’s License, NYS Insurance Broker’s License and is a NYS Notary Public.
Kim Greenberg, Esq. | Transaction Advisor
Kim Greenberg is an Associate Transaction Manager, providing consultation to a broad range of lenders covering a variety of loan types ranging from traditional bank commercial mortgage loans, construction loans and mezzanine loans to conduit loans for many types of income-producing commercial real estate properties, including multifamily properties, self storage facilities, hotels, office buildings, industrial buildings, warehouse and retail properties. Since joining Harbor in 2015, Ms. Greenberg has handled the loan insurance requirements on complex financings on behalf of large banking institutions including UBS and Barclays, which involved analyzing and recommending solutions pertaining to such matters as zoning issues, potential shortfall of insurance proceeds, multi-carrier participation programs and shared aggregation concerns under blanket policies. Prior to joining Harbor in 2015, Ms. Greenberg was a real estate attorney and title insurance agent. She graduated from University of Florida and earned her law degree at Florida International University. She is licensed with the Florida Bar Association.
Alexandra Hayden, Esq. | Senior Transaction Advisor
Alexandra Hayden serves as Transaction Counsel, conducting insurance risk analysis on transactions ranging in size from $2 million to over $600 million on behalf of lending clients, including Allianz, Basis, Benefit Street, Goldman Sachs, JPM and Deutsche Bank. Prior to joining Harbor in 2014, Ms. Hayden was an Associate at a law firm that specialized in commercial real estate transactions. While there she worked with the lending group representing banks in the drafting and negotiation of the loan documents for commercial properties. This experience gave her in-depth understanding of the process by which a loan is originated, approved and ultimately closed as well as an appreciation for the expectations and timelines of the bank, the borrower and their respective law firms. Ms. Hayden graduated with a BA in Political Studies, an MS in Urban Education from Mercy College and a JD from New York Law School. She is a member of both the Florida and Massachusetts Bar Associations.

Lisa Heller is an Associate at Harbor Group, which she joined in 2014 as a member of a team that’s responsible for the analysis of stand-alone securitizations and other large CMBS loans, including Blackstone’s acquisition of BioMed Realty Trust. Ms. Knowles was an assistant account manager for mid-market commercial lines at Advanced Insurance Underwriters, a technical assistant for a portfolio of 120 large commercial lines businesses at Brown and Brown Insurance, a retail agent at Miami Insurance Brokers, an assistant to the CFO at Clear Title Group and an assistant to a real estate broker at Douglas Elliman. Gene Marichal joined Harbor Group in 2015 and is currently an Associate Director, consulting on real estate and construction loans for a broad range of lenders. He brings over 10 years of experience at prominent middle market insurance brokerages, where he managed a book of business that concentrated on real estate construction and manufacturing. Mr. Marichal earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Political Science from Stony Brook University. He’s also a licensed P&C insurance broker.

Maria Nunez | Associate
Maria Nunez is an Associate responsible for assisting on loan closings and insurance reviews for a range of CMBS lenders, working on large transactions such as Motel 6, Project Icon and 1633 Broadway. Prior to joining Harbor in 2014, she was a legal assistant to two corporate law partners, assisting with the preparation of registration statements, warrants, notes, term sheets, 10-Ks and 10-Qs among other documents. She also assisted in preparing for closing of various corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings.

Alexis Restrepo is a Senior Analyst at Harbor Group, having joined the firm in 2015 to conduct insurance assessments on behalf of lenders for their commercial real estate transactions. In addition to examining proposed certificates, policies and endorsements to determine coverage acceptability, she researches ratings from AM Best, S&P, Moody’s and Fitch to ensure compliance with lenders’ requirements. Brady has 11 years’ experience in the commercial insurance industry including tenure as a Commercial Property and Casualty underwriter (Sequoia Insurance Company/AmTrust), Commercial Account Manager (Stockdale Insurance Agency), Business Development & Marketing Director (Stockdale Insurance Agency), and Senior Risk Management Consultant (Traxler & Tong, Inc. & Jensen Insurance Solutions). Brady has extensive experience providing clients with insurance and risk management solutions in the real estate, commercial, retail, and hospitality industries, and has spent the last 6 years providing insurance due diligence and review support to the financial services sector. Ms. Reiser obtained a Master’s of Arts in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine in 2015. She holds a B.A. in Legal Studies and Psychology, graduating with honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Pat-Kelly Lipp joined Harbor Group Consulting as a Senior Analyst in 2017 through the acquisition of Jensen Insurance Solutions. He is responsible for conducting in-depth insurance evaluations of commercial real estate and construction loan transactions. In addition to examining all proposed certificates, policies and endorsements to determine coverage acceptability, he reviews all contracts and agreements as well as insurance carrier ratings to ensure compliance with lenders’ requirements. PK has a number of years of experience in the insurance industry as a Risk Management Consultant and Senior Analyst across a multitude of capital sources including but not limited to Balance Sheet/portfolio, GSE financed, and CMBS transactions. Pat-Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design & Engineering from Western Washington University with an emphasis in aerospace.
Carol Musumeci | Associate Director, Risk Management Practice
Carol Musumeci has 30 years of experience in the insurance and risk management industries with an emphasis in the real estate and construction industries, in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, Carol worked with Silverstein Properties on the World Trade Center redevelopment and the development of 30 Park Place. Prior to joining Silverstein, Carol spent 2 years at The Related Companies working on the Hudson Yards development as well as their nationwide portfolio of residential properties. Carol spent 6 years with Brookfield Properties providing risk management services for Brookfield’s Class A real estate portfolio in the U.S and was part of the team that managed Brookfield’s Super Storm Sandy claims. During her tenure at MetLife as a Risk Manager, she also handled Met’s property program, lending due diligence and was part of the team that managed the Hurricane Katrina claim. Carol started her career in the Captive Department of Johnson & Higgins and worked on multinational accounts with Bermuda captives during the hard market cycle in the mid-1980s. She studied at The College of Insurance and has been a speaker at various construction and real estate conferences.
Ashley Menendez | Analyst
Ashley Menendez, Insurance Analyst, joined Harbor Group Consulting in 2017. Prior to joining the team, she supported the property reinsurance underwriting function for Swiss Re. During her time at there, she assisted in driving and managing the largest facultative reinsurance portfolio in Latin America. Prior to Swiss Re, she was submersed in the disability insurance sector for over eight years, working for the two largest disability brokers in the nation as an account manager and coordinator. Ashley received her BS in Mass Communication from Florida International University, and is currently pursuing her MBA from her alma mater.

Prior to joining the firm, Debbie served as Vice President-Senior Servicing Officer at Berkeley Point Capital where she was responsible for ensuring insurance coverage compliance at the time of loan closing and insurance policy renewal with the requirements of GSE, CMBS, and Life Companies, the majority of which were Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans. In her role she conceptualized, planned, and implemented process improvements, and collaborated with internal IT to develop compliance software. Debbie also participated in GSE working groups on determining insurance guide changes. As a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association Insurance Stakeholders Roundtable, she contributed to several Servicing Tech Conferences as a panel member and speaker. Prior to her role in insurance, Debbie was an Asset Manager of multifamily and commercial properties at Berkshire Mortgage Finance. Debbie is a licensed Massachusetts Property and Casualty Insurance Producer.

Nicolette Gonzalez-Kakouris joined Harbor Group Consulting in 2017 as a Transaction Coordinator supporting our Balance Sheet and CMBS team. She brings over 12 years of advertising and marketing experience having worked in New York City for Viacom, VEVO, and DailyCandy working as an Account Manager. Her clients included Bacardi, Pepsi, MasterCard, Motorola, and Diageo. Nicolette received her BS in Journalism and Communications from the University of Florida. She is also a licensed real estate agent in Florida.
