Our company was founded in 1995, starting with a consulting project for GMAC during the earliest days of commercial real estate securitization. At the time there were few, if any, firms with proficiency in a then niche market. However, we recognized the value of being on the ground floor of a now multibillion-dollar industry and the need for the expertise required to serve it.
From our first transaction to today, we have been committed to fully understanding every aspect of our clients’ businesses, the transaction and the deal process . We have also been steadfast in that commitment, even during the radical changes that have taken place over the years in risk perception and the financial markets. In every case where we have played a critical role, our clients were made whole, with no exceptions.
The result has been Harbor Group serving as the principal consultant on many of the most complex and notable financed deals of the past 20 years. In fact, we have pioneered a number of the commercial real-estate insurance concepts now being used by clients, government and rating agencies. We also represent more than 120 global financial institutions throughout multiple business lines, and continue to expand our reach across the country and around the world.
Today, Harbor Group is thriving. We are continuing to build new client relationships, are expanding our team and increasing client services through organic growth and acquisition. In early 2017, we acquired Jensen Solutions, a West Coast based insurance consulting team and expanding additional geographic outposts. We have also received an equity investment from funds managed by Stone Point Capital to further support our growth plans. We proudly maintain an inclusive, diverse culture where everyone is respected and valued, and can thrive personally and professionally, with over 70 percent of our team being credentialed women.
Looking ahead, our unwavering client-centric commitment is at the core of our services as the complexity of risk evolves with natural disasters, and climate change and new construction remains at an all-time high. We will also continue to set standards in real-time advisory services, deal-process expertise and above all, honesty, integrity and transparency in all that we do.
